Federal Woollen Mills

One of the city’s most iconic and historic buildings, the Federal Woollen Mills were opened in 1915. The mill produced woolen cloth, powered by the mills own power plan. It created stable employment for many residents. 

It is now home to a number of businesses, including Anther Distillery, and restaurant, 1915.


Polished concrete, lofty ceilings, bright pendant lighting, exposed beams, and weathered red brick feature across the open-plan restaurant, with a grand staircase leading to a sweeping second floor. 

The menu is inventive, elegant and Mediterranean-inspired; with a focus on sourcing the best local ingredients to make this a truly unique and memorable experience.

Geelong Gaol Ghost Tour

Opening in 1853, the Geelong Gaol is one of Australia's most intact 19th century convict prisons.

Enter these prison gates after dark and be haunted by stories of convicts, murderers and lunatics who once called this three story bluestone building home.

The tour will take you back to a time when the building housed male and female prisoners, as well as children from the Geelong industrial school.

Geelong Gallery

Established in 1896, the Geelong Gallery is one of Australia’s leading and oldest regional art galleries.

Since its establishment, the gallery has amassed a magnificent collection of 19th to 21st century Australian and European paintings and decorative arts, including 18th and 19th century English porcelain, British art pottery, colonial Australian silver, as well as contemporary Australian paintings, prints, sculpture and ceramics
