Aussie Communication Boot Camp

Friday, 28 April 2017

Study Geelong held a communication workshop at the funky Beav's Bar in Little Malop St, Geelong yesterday.

We had over 40 international and local students attend an entertaining workshop led by Liz Grant, manager of 'Small Business Smart Business'.

A fun video of Aussie slang started off the event followed by an interactive game show. Then it was time for a bit of language theory and live acting of skits explaining formal versus informal communication. The students' knowledge was then applied through a fun word card matching game.  Tips on body language, personal space & handshakes was given and then the students practised what they had learnt through engaging in conversation with each other.

It was a very fun event for all involved, with delicious pizzas to end the session.

What an amazing group of students are studying here in Geelong!

This event was supported by Study Melbourne through the International Student Welfare Program
